Organizing brownstones and apartments in Brooklyn Heights
Brooklyn Heights is largely brownstones and converted townhouses, where the living space is stacked vertically rather than spread across one level.
Vertical homes break the normal rules. Things end up on the wrong floor and stay there because carrying them is a decision, and the garden level turns into long-term storage by default. What works here is putting what a floor needs on that floor, so nobody is negotiating a staircase to find scissors.
