Organizing homes in New Canaan
New Canaan has a serious mid-century modern stock alongside its colonials: glass, open plans, long sightlines, and far less enclosed storage than the square footage suggests.
An open plan punishes clutter. There are no doors to close on it and no corridor to absorb it, so everything that is out is on display. These houses need storage designed in rather than added on, and they need the things that do stay visible to look deliberate.
